Just when we didn't think the Kia Optima Hybrid could get any better, the automaker went above and beyond to boost its performance and efficiency. It has been a staple in the new Kia lineup since its release in 2011, and here at Arapahoe Kia we are excited for the updates that the new hybrid has coming its way.
Starting with its powertrain, it sports a 47 horsepower electric traction motor with a more powerful Hybrid Starter Generator and 47 kW Lithium Polymer battery. This setup provides the vehicle with a combined 199 horsepower and 235 pound feet of torque. With an EPA-estimated fuel rating of 36 miles per gallon in the city, and 39 on the highway, drivers can expect to enjoy its improved performance while being able to save some money on fuel.
Available in the LX and EX trim levels, the Optima Hybrid also offers drivers more cargo space because of its repackaged battery pack. Other features available to the EX model include a Rear-Camera Display, panoramic sunroof, the choice of 16 or 17-inch alloy wheels, and heated and ventilated front seats.
To add to the model's efficiency, Kia made it more aerodynamic by lowering its ride height and rear spoiler and integrating lighter materials like aluminum into the design. For exterior updates the hybrid comes complete with a satin finished front grille and other accents added to the front fascia.
