That engine is mated to a continuously variable automatic transmission, and it makes 147 horsepower and 132 pound-feet of torque. Kia also offers a 1.6L turbocharged four-cylinder, which is available with the 2021 Kia Seltos S and EX and standard with the SX. The 1.6L is mated to a dual-clutch seven-speed automatic transmission and makes 175 hp and 195 lb.-ft. For foreign markets, Kia offers a 1.6L four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine that makes 135 hp and 236 lb.-ft. The diesel gives up a bit of acceleration in favor of better fuel economy. There has been no word on whether this engine will make it to the U.S.
