For those of you who tuned into this year's MTV Music Awards, you may have seen the ad unveiling Kia's famous hamster trio. While working out to the song "Applause" by Lady Gaga, the hamsters get back in shape to appear on the red carpet in style. Along with their image being transformed, they ride up in their stylish 2014 Kia Soul, a model that has also undergone quite the makeover.

Further explaining the idea behind the new video, Michael Sprague, Kia's executive vice president of marketing, states, "You'll see throughout the campaign our hamsters are working out and shedding their folds and baggy clothes.  In becoming more 'fit and healthy,' and hamster are now 'lean and mean.' The idea is, the hamsters are getting a total transformation- just like the 2014 Kia Soul.1

The second generation crossover model has grown in popularity to become the third best-seller for Kia. With its unique style, smooth ride quality, and enhanced interior, the new Soul was designed to provide an even more enjoyable driving experience.

Previously the Kia hamsters were used in ads to reach out to the target demographic of younger drivers. With 20 million YouTube views, the "Share Some Soul" campaign was certainly a successful one. This time around however, the idea is to connect with a larger youthful minded audience. After all, who can resist a trio of hamsters driving around in a lime green Kia Soul model?
