As the number of teenagers involved in automobile accidents rises each year, it is crucial that teen drivers are given the proper training to practice safer driving habits. In addition to incorporating the latest safety technology into new Kia vehicles, Kia Motors America is reaching out directly to the community. Here at Arapahoe Kia we are excited to tell you how.
The non-profit organization, B.R.A.K.E.S. (Be Responsible and Keep Everyone Safe), has partnered with Kia to provide teenagers ages 15-19 with a free program that allows them to learn how to handle certain driving scenarios. The Teen Pro Active Driving Course covers accident avoidance, distracted driving, drop wheel/off road recovery, panic stop, and car control and recovery. Kia is recognizing the need for proactive measures to be taken. Its support to programs like this one is vital for developing smart and cautious teenage drivers.
Michael Sprague, Executive Vice President of
Marketing and Communications for Kia Motors, explains, "Kia's partnership with B.R.A.K.E.S. is a
reflection of the company's commitment to give back to the communities in which
we do business. Reinforcing the importance of responsible driving in the first
few months of licensure is essential to reducing the number of teen motor
vehicle crashes and making the roads safer for everyone."1
