Kia just keeps going up. On July 29, the South Korean automaker posted a 1.1-trillion Korean won (approximately 1-billion dollars) consolidated net profit for April, May and June. This surpassed analysts' expectations of a profit of 913-billion Korean won.
If Kia had met that forecast, it would have been an impressive feat. In seeing the automaker, triumph the aggressive projection by 187-billion Korean won (roughly 178-million dollars), our jaws at Arapahoe Kia fell agape.
Looking at a more localized perspective, we can see the automaker's market share grew from 3.4 percent in Q1 2011to 4.3 percent in Q2 2011. The Kia Optima and Kia Sportage played large roles in the success of those quarters.
Due to the accomplishments year to date, Kia decided to set new 2011 goals, in the U.S. Another great result of the South Korean automakers triumphant year, is the plan to start manufacturing the Kia Optima in the U.S. rather than import it from overseas, to further the localization movement.
