2024 Kia EV9 Overview

The popularity and critical acclaim of the Kia Telluride coupled with the immediate success of the Kia EV6 has made the EV9 one of the most anticipated new Kia vehicles ever. There is a great deal of excitement, and at Arapahoe Kia serving Centennial Denver Littleton Colorado, we continue to receive many questions, and this early 2024 Kia EV9 review is an opportunity to answer the most common based on the details we currently have. Initially, the EV9 will be offered in two core trim levels—Standard and GT-Line—and with the Standard model, there will be drive layout and battery pack options.

The 2024 Kia EV9 is a midsize SUV with similar dimensions to the Telluride. That includes the 7.8 inches of ground clearance. The exterior color options announced thus far are Aurora Black Pearl, Flare Red, Iceberg Green, Ivory Silver, Ivory Silver Matte, Pebble Gray and Snow White Pearl. Aluminum wheels will be standard, and wheel sizes will range from 19 to 21 inches. The sportier GT-Line will add an exclusive appearance package and also include the raised roof rails as standard equipment.

Final interior specifications are not yet available for the 2024 Kia EV9, but we do know that cabin is similar to the Telluride in overall spaciousness. The main difference here is that the EV9 seats six and gives you the option to swap out the middle-row captain’s chairs for a bench seat and increase max seating by one. There is ample roominess for adults in all three rows. You can even seat a pair of six-foot-tall adult men in the third row comfortably, and dedicated cargo space is approximately 21 cubic feet.

Range is one of the most important aspects of any 2024 Kia EV9 review, and while EPA estimates are not available yet, Kia has released early estimates. Our Kia dealership serving Centennial Denver Littleton Colorado will offer a standard- and long-range battery pack. The standard configuration will provide more than 250 miles, and the long-range option will provide more than 300 miles.

The most affordable 2024 Kia EV9 at Arapahoe Kia will have the standard-range battery pack and a single motor that drives the rear wheels. Output is 215 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. All-wheel drive is optional here. Horsepower will dip a bit to 201 due to a smaller rear motor, and you can add the bigger battery pack to either configuration. The GT-Line comes standard with AWD and the larger battery and provides 379 hp and 516 lb.-ft. All AWD model can tow 5,000 pounds with proper equipment.

All models have twin 12.3-inch displays, come equipped to support Level 3 autonomous driving and have Kia’s latest infotainment software with wireless support for Android and Apple devices. Confirmed standard driver assists include automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane departure with steering assist and adaptive cruise control. You can expect all of the features available for the Telluride and Ev6, but we’re just not sure yet where those are standard and optional.
