2017 KIA Sorento for Sale to 80120The 2017 Sorento is the second entry in the Kia midsize crossover SUV's third production cycle. For this year, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay-which enable you to control the dashboard-installed stereo unit with your smartphone-is now standard. And advanced safety features like adaptive headlights and automatic emergency braking are now available. In addition to the four trim levels-L, LX, EX, and SX-the 2017 Sorento is available as the top-tier SXL V6 model. Normally, the crossover is powered by a 2.4-liter 16-valve 4-cylinder (I4), which generates 185 horsepower and 178 lb-ft of torque. The EX stands alone with the turbocharged 2.0-liter 16-valve I4 with 240 horsepower and 260 lb-ft, and all trims save for the L can swap the 2.4-liter I4 with a 3.3-liter 24-valve V6 that produces 290 horsepower and 252 lb-ft of torque. Each engine is hitched to an electronically-controlled 6-speed automatic transmission that includes a Sportmaticâ„¢ sports shifter for a greater feeling of gear shifting control. Although front-wheel drive is the standard layout on the Sorento, you can opt for Kia's Dynamax All-Wheel Drive system for increased traction and a heightened sense of vehicle control if you go with the LX trim or higher. A two-row vehicle with standard seating for five people, the new Soreno offers a passenger volume of up to 154.2 cubic feet. For increased accommodation, you can add a third-row seat to allow up to seven occupants on select trim combinations. Ten-way power adjustability and power lumbar support on the driver's seat is featured on the EX trim level. On the SX, ten-way power becomes 14-way, the lumbar support is upgraded to 4-way power, and a memory system enables you to store seating positions. Front-seat heating capability and leather seat trim are also standard on the EX and SX trim levels; the SXL V6 is further upgraded with front-seat cooling capability, second-row heating capability, and Nappa leather seat surfaces. At the base level, the 2017 Sorento has comfort and convenience features like steering wheel-mounted controls, Bluetooth connectivity for hands-free phone service and audio streaming, and a 6-speaker stereo system that includes a SiriusXM satellite radio subscription. Upper-level trims are more likely to have additions or enhancements like the aforementioned Android Auto and Apple CarPlay interfaces, a 4.3- or 8-inch color touchscreen, GPS navigation, a rearview camera, remote keyless entry with push-button engine start, and a 10-speaker surround sound system. For crash safety protection, the 2017 Sorento comes with two front impact, two side impact, and two side curtain airbags. Other safety standards include four-wheel disc brakes for shortened stopping distances, anti-locking braking for preventing wheel lock-up, electronic stability and traction control for absolute command of the vehicle, and hill start assist control for preventing it from rolling backward when moving from a parked position on a steep hill. In addition to the aforementioned adaptive headlights and automatic emergency braking, features like a rear parking assist system, lane departure and forward collision warning systems, and blind spot detection with rear cross-traffic alert are available or standard on some upper-level trims. | |||
