Oil Type and Capacity It's the chicken soup for your Kia Soul, it's engine oil. It may not seem important, but after regular wear and tear, it's crucial to change your oil and oil filter. To make sure your engine stays free of buildup and can run to the best of its ability, Kia has suggestions on which oil and which oil filter you should choose. Typically, it's recommended that you change your oil or have your oil changed for you every 7,500 miles or every 7 and a half months. Kia also suggests you use a Kia oil filter, as well as synthetic oil. It has been proven in many scientific tests that synthetic oil is best for your engine, coating the inside of your engine more and for longer periods of time.
